　　On the morning of January 25, Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) 2017 Student Chinese New Year Get-together was held in the gymnasium of Zhongguancun campus. President of BIT and academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Hu Haiyan, executive vice-president Yang Bin, vice-president Li Hezhang, vice president and deputy secretary Xiang Changle attended the event, together with more than 200 native students, foreign students and teachers, celebrated and welcomed Lunar Year of the Rooster. Some officials of the functional departments and schools also attended the event.

　　Hu Haiyan sent his best wishes of the New Year in English to all students and teachers. He explained the background of the transition from "The Chinese New Year" to "Spring Festival" and pointed out that with the increasing influence of China in the international community and the continuous improvement of China's education, more and more overseas students choose to study in China. Hu Haiyan said that in recent years, the international school-running level of BIT had been continuously improved and the international popularity had been further expanded. It is hoped that the foreign students in BIT can make academic achievements in the school and welcome more foreign students to come to study. At last, Hu Haiyan wished all teachers and students a happy new year.

　　The Student Spring Festival Get-together was designed to hold artistic performances, lucky draw and games. There is guessing, paper cutting, ferrules and other traditional games, also flat support, grab chairs, ‘you play I guess’, flop, count seven and other competitive games on the spot. The school prepared rich prizes such as smart bracelet, headphones, pens, U disk, mouse and pokers, which were welcomed by students. The Get-together was filled with laughter and warm atmosphere.
