UCLan Delegation Visits BIT

¡¡¡¡On the afternoon of March 6, Liz Bromley, vice president of University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) and the delegation visited Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT). Long Teng, president assistant of BIT, met with them in meeting room 133 of the Building No. 2.

 

¡¡¡¡Long Teng welcomed the UCLan delegation on behalf of BIT and gave a brief introduction of BIT¡¯s situation, history, and international teaching strategy. After that, Long Teng looked back on the international exchange and cooperation programs between BIT and UCLan. He said, since the cooperation between UCLan and BIT began in the 90s, UCLan and BIT had conducted some successful teaching and cultural cooperative programs concerning subjects such as electronicengineering. In the end, Long Teng hoped that BIT and UCLan could in the future conduct more exchange programs.

 

¡¡¡¡In the meeting, vice president of UCLan, Liz Bromley at first thanked the warm welcome from BIT. She says that BIT is an important international cooperative partner of UCLan and currently the cooperative education program of electronic engineering between two universities goes on well. Moreover, UCLan has sent some students to BIT for short-term exchange, and some students of UCLan have planned their further study to acquire their master degree in BIT. President Bromley hopes that the two universities could promote in-depth cooperation in the future.

 

¡¡¡¡During the meeting, they also discussed about the future cooperation in new fields. Besides vice president Liz Bromley, Tim Steele, director of the international affairs, and Ge Yunfei, affairs specialist for China were also in the UCLan delegation and attended the meeting. As for BIT, Professional Liu Jiakang of the School of Electronics and Information, who is in charge of the cooperative education program of electronic engineering, and Xing Qingqing, deputy director of the Office of International affairs, attended the meeting.
