¡¡¡¡On March 2, 2017, at the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Explosion Science and Technology, Professor Jan Roar Bakke, Chairman of Process Safety Subcommittee, International Organization of Oil and Gas Producers (IOGP), visited Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) and gave a presentation with a title of Explosion and Fire - QRA Methodology Using FLACS . The report was presided over by Wang Zhongqi, deputy director of the State Key Laboratory of Explosion Science and Technology.

¡¡¡¡Professor Jan Roar Bakke systematically introduced the update of methods of establishing the fire, explosion accident evolution model, flammable material explosion and fire simulation test, parameter identification and characterization methods, industrial combustion and explosion safety analysis and design, combined with the research and development of the FLACS software system, which is one of the excellent numerical simulation platforms in the field of explosion safety research. He also discussed about the latest research results of the quantitative risk assessment methods and application about the international occurrence of major accidents. The report caused a strong concern and interest among teachers and students, and they had a heated discussion about the content concerned.

¡¡¡¡After the report, Professor Jan Roar Bakke and the laboratory teachers discussed and spoke highly of the investigation of industrial explosions occurred in China in recent years. Professor Jan Roar Bakke hopes to further strengthen the communication and cooperation between BIT and IOGP. Besides, he invited BIT laboratory researchers to participate in investigation and analysis of international industrial explosion accidents and application for projects.
