BTU Delegation Visits BIT

¡¡¡¡On the morning of March 17, Professor Joerg Steinbach, president of Germany Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU), Mareike Kunze, director of the Office of International Affairs, and Professor Scheibner, director of the Institute of Bioengineering visited Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT). BIT President Hu Haiyan met the delegation in the meeting room 233 of the Building No.2.

¡¡¡¡President Hu Haiyan welcomed the BTU delegation. He introduced the development and international teaching strategies of BIT, and then welcomed BTU to send more teachers and students to visit BIT since the two universities had long cooperative history and frequent communication.
¡¡¡¡
¡¡¡¡Joerg Steinbach said he was glad to visit BIT again, and reviewed with interest his last visit during the 2010 celebration of BIT as president of Technical University of Berlin (TUB). He also introduced the school characteristics and the research focus in scientific area of BTU, and said that as an innovative university of science and engineering, BTU expected to establish more cooperation with BIT, especially expand communication in dual-degree area.

¡¡¡¡The both side exchanged opinions about the form and content of cooperation. President Hu Haiyan and Joerg Steinbach renewed the agreement on bilateral cooperation and student exchange.

¡¡¡¡After the meeting, the delegation also visited a laboratory of the School of Life of BIT, and had academic communication and discussion with Professor Li Chun and Professor Huo Yixin.

¡¡¡¡Long Teng, president assistant, Feng Jinsheng, vice president of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Xing Qingqing, deputy director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, and Mao Yufeng, director of the Office of Exchange attended the meeting.

¡¡¡¡Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) was established in 1991, located in Brandenburg test Buss, Germany, the first key university of technology. BTU is a public university of technology which focuses on interdisciplinary projects of practical skills and scientific research on sustainable performance.
¡¡¡¡BTU has over 8000 students and 600 staff there, and consists of six schools, including School of Mathematics Computer Science and Physical Electronics and Information Engineering, School of Environmental and Natural Science, School of Civil Engineering and Urban Planning, School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronics and Energy Systems, School of Social Work, Health and Music, School of Economics and Sociology of Law.
