¡¡¡¡On the morning of Dec. 6th, 2017, Darcy Fuenzalida, president of Federico Santa Mar¨ªa Technical University, arrived at Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) with four other delegation members. They were received by president of BIT Hu Haiyan at the 133 meeting room in the No.2 building.
¡¡¡¡Hu Haiyan extended warm welcome to the delegation¡¯s visit to BIT and introduced BIT¡¯s history, subject development and internationalized education. He stated that BIT consider it its responsibility to cultivate creative talents with international competitiveness, which includes improving students¡¯ multi-lingua capability, emphasizing international communication and cooperation, and developing substantive cooperation in high-level universities around the world. He welcomed teachers and students from Federico Santa Mar¨ªa Technical University to come over and study and thus enhance communication.
¡¡¡¡President Mr. Fuenzalida thanked President Hu Haiyan for his warm reception and gave an introduction on the campus distribution, general introduction, brand majors and especially the cooperative projects with the Chinese enterprises. He also expressed his wish to promote further communication and cooperation with BIT in key subjects.
¡¡¡¡Wang Ying, director of Office of International Students, introduced BIT¡¯s foreign students¡¯ education and scholarship program, while Gao Shan, vice director of the International Office, introduced BIT¡¯s exchange program with the Latin America and other international cooperation.
¡¡¡¡Later on, Hu Haiyan accepted the interview by the journalist from Federico Santa Mar¨ªa Technical University.
¡¡¡¡The delegation consisted of director of the Office of Public Liaison Patricio N¨²?ez, dean of business school Lionel Valenzuela, professor Jinggang Tan from school of mathematics, and director of International Office Karol Trautmann. Participants of BIT includes Yan Zhijun, associate dean of School of Management and Economics, Peng Shu from Center of International Communication and Cooperation and Shen Jiapei from Office of International Students.
