　　On June 29, the opening ceremony of the 22^nd China International Software Expo ( hereinafter referred to as the CISE 2018 ) hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Beijing Municipal People’s Government was held in Beijing Exhibition Center. Miao Wei, the minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Chen Jining, the mayor of Beijing attended and delivered a speech. Related directors from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, officers from the Beijing Municipal People’s Government and related departments, embassy officials from 11 countries, 18 directors of the local department in charge of industry, more than 300 enterprises’ representatives and more than 100 journalists attended the opening ceremony.

　　As an affiliated university of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) have assigned more than 100 outstanding international students representatives and 18 excellent international student volunteers to participate in the activities. These students mainly come from countries along ‘the Belt and Road’, including Hungary, Serbia, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Tanzania, Ethiopia, France and Germany, etc.. They have fully demonstrated the good spirit, excellent comprehensive quality and rigorous working attitude of the international students of BIT, and helped the CISE 2018 to be held successfully.

　　At the “software night” gala held on the evening of June 30, Beijing Institute of Technology(BIT) was awarded the “CISE 2018” honorary medal.

　　CISE 2018 is themed with “New era, new idea, new software”. Each section of the exhibition shows not only process of our country’s software industry starting from scratch, from small to large in the 40 years of the Reform and Opening-up, but also bring together the achievements of recent years in software innovation. This time, more than 300 enterprises and local exhibitors, including Huawei, Tencent, Alibaba, JD.com, Toutiao, Meituan and other internet giants participate in the exhibition. All enterprises give full play to their respective advantages and demonstrate their most advanced technologies and concepts in artificial intelligence, big data, the internet of things, cloud computing and other fields.

　　International students who attended the exhibition are deeply attracted by new technologies such as artificial intelligence and augmented reality (AR). They try and experience, hence deeply touched by the innovation, application and development of China’s software products and rapid development of information technology.

　　As BIT’s traditional dominant subject, computer science and technology and software engineering have always been the key major for the international students of the university, which has good quality of students, high quality of training and broad employment prospects. In recent years, BIT has always been carrying out foreign students work around “double first-class” construction and characteristics of key discipline project, integrating cultivation of internationalized talents and development of information technology. In promoting students’ active exploration and innovation, at the same time, vigorously improve students training quality, which help build a new ecology for cultivating innovative students, and contribute to the “double first-class” construction and international development of the university.
