Speaker Profile: Dr. Thomas J.Day, Director of Systems Engineering Research Center affiliated to the US Department of Commerce; Visiting Professor, Southern New Hampshire University Graduate Walsh Enterprise Management; Visiting Professor, University of Maryland School of Mathematics and Statistics; American Water Environment Research Center and the British Water Research Center. He worked at the Department of Water Conservation , Philadelphia; America Water services, America United Tech Water Services, New York headquarters for close to 30 years. He also worked as a Consultant and provided technical solutions for some private companies and government parastatals. He was in charge of technical and business human resource management and training. At the same time, he also supervised the management of international engineering projects in the States, Europe and Canada. In the field of Science and Engineering, he has got a wide range of multi-regional cross-border work experience.

    Mr. Day obtained a doctorate degree in Systems Engineering and one in Engineering Management at Stevens Institute of Technology in the United States. He was the school's first recipient of a doctorate in engineering management (2007). In the years1991 and 1988, he respectively obtained a Master's degree in Computer and Software Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering both at Widener University. In 1986 in Philadelphia Community College he obtained an Associate Degree of Arts and Sciences and became a qualified Assistant Solicitor.

    Owing to multi-disciplinary educational background his research interests is very extensive. His main research areas cover Engineering innovation, Technology management, Systems engineering, Modeling and Simulation technology, Process Cost Analysis, Optimal development and operations. Currently, he has published more than 50 professional papers, published two monographs; patented two; and obtained a number of government issued 'Green Energy' prizes.
