    Beijing Institute of Technology, one of the leading universities in China, with a goal to build a world-renown university, expects the talents from all over the world to join our teaching and research. In October 2015, several events for the recruitment will be organized in Canada and the USA. The details are as follows,

I.  Introduction

    Beijing Institute of Technology is one of the leading universities in China. As one of the thirty-nine "985 project" universities and also "211 project" universities, BIT receives vigorous support from the central government and the industry in China. The university is prominent in both education and research, with numerous national top-level academic programs in engineering, sciences, management and social sciences.

    BIT attaches great importance to the international exchange and cooperation. We've established fruitful ties with 203 universities from 58 countries and regions in the world including Univ. of Virginia, Univ. of Waterloo, ANU, ETH, KTH, TU Munich etc. BIT has extended many successful programs with partner universities all over the world in joint education, faculty exchanges, student training, academic exchanges and research collaborations. BIT offers 14 Graduate English Taught Programs and 4 Undergraduate English Taught Programs. There are more than 1500 international students from all over the world studying now at BIT.

    With a vision of being one of the top universities in the world, Beijing Institute of Technology established the Advanced Research Institute for Multidisciplinary Science in June, 2015 to build a top-level platform for academic innovation. With cutting-edge studies crossing multiple academic fields, also targeting at the future trends in scientific and technological development, the Institute specializes in the studies of multidisciplinary and advanced science. Featured as a talent pool connecting academic clusters, the Institute aims at being a top-level platform for academic innovation to produce significant original innovations, thus promotes BIT’s international academic impact, the ability to attract top level talents and to maintain academic prosperity.

    Under the leadership of the Multidisciplinary Science Committee at the university level, the Institute has particularly set up special administrative offices and service platforms with priorities put onto the personnel, academic and resource allocation.

    The Institute follows a new code of development with more independent, dynamic, frontier and innovative management system.

    The recruitment of talents abides by a tenure track system to encourage academic competition and mobility. Based on a one-on-one negotiated case of remuneration, the recruitment, evaluation, promotion and dismiss of the new faculty at the Institute with an international standard. 

II. Positions

Positions are offered but not limited in the following academic areas:
 

Teaching & research position
  • Long term: one year or greater
  • Short term: more than one month and within twelve months
Responsibility: to engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and student supervision, or to undertake collaborative research, help with the discipline’s development
 
Teaching position

  • Long term: one year or greater
  • Short term: more than one month and within twelve months
Responsibility: to engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
 
III.  Qualifications
  • Must have a clean legal record 
  • Have a good personality and team-orientated spirit
  • Be healthy and under the age of 65
  • Applicants for the teaching & research positions must hold a Ph.D degree and the title of associate or assistant professorship or above. Applicants are expected to demonstrate excellence, originality and productivity in research, and have interest in undergraduate and graduate teaching and supervision, collaborative research and academic exchange.
  • Applicants for the teaching positions must hold a Ph.D degree and at least three years teaching experience in related academic fields. Applicants for language teaching positions must hold a bachelor’s degree or above, a professional certificate of language teaching and at least three years language teaching experience. 
  • Applicants shall observe the University's rules and regulations in language teaching.

IV.  Pay and benefits

    We implement an annual salary system for long-term teaching & research faculty, and a monthly salary system for teaching faculty, and practice the paid vacation system.

Teaching & research position:

?Professor 450,000-550,000 RMB
?Associate Professor 300,000-400,000 RMB
?Lecturer 200,000-240,000 RMB

Teaching position:

?Doctor's degree 131,000-145,000 RMB
?Master's degree 120,000-128,000RMB
?Bachelor's degree 107,000-116,000 RMB
    For short-term visiting scholars, BIT will cover one round-trip international air ticket, accommodation and monthly allowance.
